RIVERS IN THE DESERT

We exist to see dry places saturated with the presence of God.

When the inward places first receive the love and transformation of the Spirit, then the outward places experience the overflow. Jesus said, within each of his followers, he would place a spring of living water that would satisfy our thirst and never run dry (John 7:38-39). At Desert Church, we believe a saturated life is realized at the intersection of Presence, Counter Formation, and Mission.

I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

  • Intimacy with God

    I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing… When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. John 15:5,8

    For followers of Jesus, we must first become deeply rooted in intimacy with our Creator and Father. We believe this happens when we are submitted to the authority of the Bible and are sensitive and submitted to the Holy Spirit.

  • Service to the World

    He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

    Our mandate is to share the love of Jesus with the whole world. Believers must be rooted in service to the world if the church is to have lasting impact. We believe followers of Jesus are to have extraordinary love for people by means of practical service and sharing the gospel with boldness.

  • Community in the Church

    They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42

    Followers of Jesus are part of a greater story and belong to a bigger community. Every member has unique gifts that they have been equipped with in order to build up the body of Christ.

Attend a Grow Class

Grow Class takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month immediately following service. It is an opportunity to spend time with our pastors and for us to get to know one another. You will learn more about what it means to follow Jesus and what your next step might be in your journey. It is a casual, conversation style setting and is about 60 minutes long. (Childcare can be provided if requested in advance.)
