RIVERS IN THE DESERT

We exist to see dry places saturated with the presence of God.

I will make a way in the wilderness and
rivers in the desert.
- Isaiah 43:19

A Saturated Life

How can you tell if something is saturated? There is overflow. Inward saturation leads to outward transformation. Jesus said, within each of his followers, he would place his presence within them that would be like a spring of living water which satisfies our thirst and never runs dry (John 7:38-39). At Desert Church, we believe a saturated life is realized at the intersection of Presence, Counter Formation, and Mission.

  • We are pursuing the tangible presence of the living God through prayer and worship. We believe that God is always available through the Holy Spirit and His ultimate desire is to be with us. Like Jesus, everything we do comes from a place of deep intimacy with the Father, recognizing that we are sons and daughters of God.

  • We are practicing counter formation, moving away from the values and practices of the world, and toward the values of God’s kingdom and the ways of Jesus. Through the practices of Jesus that we see in Scripture, we are deeply transformed and become more like Christ.

  • We are partnering with the mission of God to redeem the whole earth (Col 1:20) by giving ourselves to his purposes. Our desire is to see our communities saturated with the presence of God for their healing and flourishing.

Attend a Grow Class

Grow Class takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month immediately following service. It is an opportunity to spend time with our pastors and for us to get to know one another. You will learn more about what it means to follow Jesus and what your next step might be in your journey. It is a casual, conversation style setting and is about 60 minutes long. (Childcare can be provided if requested in advance.)
